Purpose built to provide holistic care

This 53,000 sq. ft. facility, designed by Holst Architecture, sits on 3.4 acres of therapeutically planned green space. It includes 70 inpatient beds and 24 detox beds, a commercial kitchen and dining areas for residents and a staff dormitory. The facility also includes a fitness center, group therapy, individual therapy, family meeting space, and various other spaces to support recovery treatment. 

The new treatment center was designed using trauma-informed principles and is purpose built to provide holistic care for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Characterized by ample natural light, the facility offers patients the opportunity to engage in an approach to healing that cultivates hope despite years of illness and trauma. A commitment to indoor environmental quality drove the selection of healthy materials and finishes, including carpet, paint, and phthalate-free LVT flooring. External roof insulation and a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) mechanical system with an energy recovery ventilator (ERV) unit contribute to the building’s energy efficiency.

Delivering treatment services to over 5,100 individuals and their families a year and reaching an additional 5,300 individuals through community education programs, this project is transformational for De Paul and for addiction treatment in Oregon. The programs offered include a full continuum of care – medical withdrawal management, residential treatment, and outpatient services – and community gathering spaces for education, assembly, and celebration.
